MIPS membership includes an Indemnity insurance policy to cover you for civil liability and defence costs for matters arising from healthcare provided by you.

The current annual membership fee for a general dentist in private practice, excluding specified procedures, varies depending on your state of practice and can range from $1,395 to $2,393. The current annual membership fee for a general dentist in a full-time employer indemnified role who does not require cover for past private practice is $385. Lower rates may apply for recently graduated practitioners. Lower rates apply if you are studying towards obtaining your first specialist qualification.

The fees reflects the highest indicative mature annual membership fee (including all statutory charges) for the current membership period. Fees are subject to change, without notice.

In addition to indemnity, MIPS membership includes:

  • MIPS Protections added discretionary cover for professional matters not covered by insurance such as issues concerning mandatory reporting, AHPRA or other regulators and statutory authorities or professional associations

  • Other member benefits including advocacy and lobbying to support interests of the member base and access to additional product and services eg health insurance.

Pay via monthly direct debit at no additional cost. MIPS memberships are conveniently matched to the financial year from 1 July to 30 June to make it easy for you at tax time.
