Dr Graham Stokes, dentist and Chair of MPS Council, has said Dental Protection will continue evolving and innovating to strengthen the service and support it provides to dental professionals all over the world.

Writing in MPS’s 2025 annual report, he said: “Dental Protection has a long and proud history, but we are by no means standing still. We are continuing to evolve, innovate, and sharpen our focus.

“Our responsibilities to both members and colleagues require a strengthened ability to provide a secure, high-quality service, so we remain fit for purpose in an evolving world.

“Through our Learning Hub and research arm – The MPS Foundation – we will focus on keeping members ahead of the curve. Whether it is building safer practices or staying on top of a rapidly changing healthcare landscape, our aim is to empower dental professionals to grow and succeed. These efforts are what set us apart, making membership more than just a safeguard.

“Our Council continues to represent members with focus and purpose. My colleagues on Council come from a wide variety of backgrounds and bring great experience and knowledge to the role – and the majority are doctors or dentists, ensuring the voice of members is always heard and paramount.

“I have been thrilled to welcome a fellow dentist, Catherine Rutland, onto Council as Non-Executive Director. Prof Raj Rattan has also been appointed as Dental Protection’s first Global Adviser and Dr George Wright took up his new role as Dental Director in April. Both bring years of dental experience and passion.

“It’s been an invigorating two years as your Chair, and our work as an organisation remains as deeply meaningful as when I took on the role. Our vital purpose – to support members when they need it most, so they can deliver the best possible care to patients – remains my beacon. I invite you to read more about our work and progress in our annual report.”
